ABOUT US

From Baghdad to The Bay is a documentary that follows the journey of an Iraqi refugee and former translator for the US military.  Wrongfully accused of being a double agent, tortured by the US, and ostracized from his family and country, Ghazwan Alsharif struggles to rebuild his life in the United States while coming out as an openly gay man.

Our stellar team includes Emmy-award winning producer Jack Walsh (Screaming Queens: The Riot at Compton’s Cafeteria), Emmy-award winning film editor Eli Olson (My Flesh and Blood, And Then Came Lola) and is led by Director Erin Palmquist (Lucasfilm, National Geographic, PBS). We believe in the power and wide-ranging resonance of this film, and are putting strategies in place for film festival screenings, public broadcasting and distribution. We’ve recently submitted to Sundance Film Festival and SXSW, and will be submitting to the Berlinale and many others in the coming months.

We wish we could pay but, at this time, the position is a volunteer role. Depending on school requirements we are happy to offer class credit. You will be provided with a copy of the film, credit for the work that you do and an opportunity to work with and learn from our incredible and fun team.
